(AG Provincial E-Portal) -On the evening of June 4, at To Xuan Industrial Park, Tinh Bien Ward, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Tải game Kinh 79 Provincial People's Committee, held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Tinh Bien - Tải game Kinh 79 International Trade Fair.
Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Tải game Kinh 79 Provincial People's Committee; Giang Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency.
From the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Souksuan Vilayvong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Champasak Provincial Administration, attended.
From the Kingdom of Cambodia, attendees included Vei Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province; Yong Sovathana, Deputy Governor of Takeo Province; Khon Sereiratha, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province; and Khiev Rithiphorn, Deputy Governor of Kampot Province.
Also present were Do Viet Phuong, Trade Counselor and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Cambodia; and Nguyen Van Cuong, Vice President of the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Cambodia.
The fair takes place from June 4 to June 10, with the theme: “Connecting Border Trade - Breakthrough in Green and Digital Commerce.” The fair features 260 booths, including 220 commercial booths, an exhibition area showcasing signature products from Vietnamese provinces and cities, and more than 20 booths from enterprises from the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
Exhibiting enterprises focus on product groups such as: agricultural products, aquatic products, One Commune One Product (OCOP) items, regional specialties, and various consumer goods serving the shopping needs of residents and tourists. In addition, the fair includes a food court, entertainment area, and a stage for art performances to serve visitors.
In his opening remarks, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized that the 2026 Tinh Bien - Tải game Kinh 79 International Trade Fair is an international-scale event of great practicality and strategic significance for the development of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos trade activities in the new period.
Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed that, over the past years, the economic relationship among Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos has been an impressive success story. Cross-border trade is considered the lifeblood of the economy, and in recent years, this relationship between Tải game Kinh 79 and the provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic has been consistently maintained and increasingly developed.
In 2025, total import-export turnover through border gates reached 1.287 billion USD, of which exports reached 561.35 million USD and imports reached 718.00 million USD, with a mutually complementary commodity structure including: raw materials, agricultural raw materials for production, aquatic products, rice, consumer goods, fertilizers, and many other items.
According to Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong, the fair is an opportunity for economic exchange and cooperation among sectors and localities nationwide, linking activities and providing support for mutual development, contributing to improving production - business capacity and competitiveness in the trend of international economic integration; linking trade, tourism, and investment promotion between Vietnamese provinces and cities and the two countries of Cambodia and Laos; and promoting border trade activities among enterprises.
Through the fair, support is provided to units and enterprises in improving and developing products to be more competitive in today’s market; developing business partners, expanding branches and distribution agents, forming joint ventures and associations, exchanging, and seeking opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.
This is also an opportunity for enterprises from Vietnam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to meet, exchange, introduce images, and promote specialty products to domestic and foreign tourists; in order to connect, cooperate in business, expand consumption markets, and strengthen consumer demand stimulus activities.
The organization of this fair also contributes momentum to preparations for hosting APEC 2027 in the Phu Quoc Special Zone, Viet Nam.
Within the framework of the 2026 Tinh Bien - Tải game Kinh 79 International Trade Fair, many practical activities will take place, such as: the Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos Border Trade Connection Conference; a program to promote the consumption of Tải game Kinh 79 products on digital platforms; training on skills to build sales channels on online platforms; and support for enterprises and business households to improve their capacity to access markets in the digital era./.
